BRUT was made in collaboration with Rubén Sánchez, an internationally recognised artist known for his visual intensity and compositional instinct — someone who feels curves before he calculates them. That is exactly the kind of mind AMBER looks for. Different trains, same destination.
The exchange was natural: Rubén brought his artistic language, AMBER brought the physical world — materials with weight, texture and memory, and the structural knowledge to make six pieces in apparent imbalance stand solidly and last.
The sculpture is 200kg of Pietra grey marble, Emperador marble, recovered oak and chestnut, and Amberlite — a lightweight mortar of wood shavings and recycled cardboard that achieves a durable mineral surface on shaped forms. At two metres high, the upper pieces needed to be light. Amberlite was the answer.
Old and new. Hand-sculpted surfaces and precision-cut elements. Stone that has been waiting millions of years and a recycled material invented last year in a workshop in Chiclana. A dialogue that neither party could have had alone.
