The brief arrived with an image one of those AI-generated references that exist in no workshop and obey no material logic, conjured for a private dining room in a luxury hotel on the Costa del Sol. A space where the chef cooks for a select few, and the table is part of the performance.

A less practiced studio might have apologised for reality. AMBER has spent years inventing fabrication techniques to close the gap between Iñigo Calleja's fantasy sketches and what hands can actually make which meant that, almost without knowing it, the interior designer had found exactly the right partner.

The material was iroko oversized planks of the kind that industrial workshops quietly turn away. Too heavy, too wide for standard machinery, prone to warping at that scale, demanding the kind of individual attention that production lines cannot afford. For AMBER, that is a description of interesting work.

Calleja sharpened the fantasy down to something buildable without losing the impact the space demanded. The result is a table of impeccable construction and unmistakable style the kind of piece that makes people ask whether it was designed by a person or generated by a machine. It was designed by a person. That is precisely why it works.
